    The trajectory of Grupo Tim\u00f3n began in the 1950s with the partnership of two entrepreneurs, Jes\u00fas Polanco and Pancho P\u00e9rez Gonz\u00e1lez. They initially generated value in the publishing and textbook industry through the founding of the iconic Santillana publishing house, and, in the early years of democracy, in communications media via the founding of El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, one of Spain\u2019s major newspapers, playing a crucial role in the transition to democracy and the consolidation of the free press.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Structured as a family office, but managed by business professionals, the company began to diversify its investments throughout the 1980s and 1990s, incorporating premium assets, principally in the hotel and real estate sectors.
